Course Title: Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme – SSSTS
 
Course Description This course is for those considering, or who already have, supervisory responsibilities.The Course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites and provides an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.It highlights legal responsibilities and the need to promote health and safety.
 
Learning Content At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:

  • Health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors
  • Your supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely
  • Risk assessments and the need for method statements
  • Effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
  • Monitoring site activities effectively
  • Timely intervention when bad practice is identified.
 
Suitable for This course is for first line supervisors – those who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities.It will provide a sound knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely supervising a construction site.
 
Course Recognition An accredited Certificate will be issued to all delegates successfully completing the course.
 
Assessment and   Qualification Compulsory final examination (80% pass grade).On successful completion candidates will receive a ‘Construction Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme’ Certificate valid for 5 years awarded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)Training grant aid is provided in accordance with the current CITB grants scheme
